Was nice to have a cou­ple of days re­prieve from the heat this past week. It made things a bit more com­fort­able. Look­ing at the fore­cast, looks like it will be a scorch­ing hot week com­ing up. Have you tried your pota­toes from the gar­den yet? We have and they were very tasty.

In Li­brary news, on Satur- day, Au­gust 11, the Sum­mer Read­ing Pro­gram is meet­ing at the Li­brary. There will be crafts, songs and sto­ries. All ages are wel­come. On Satur­day, Au­gust 18, there is Minecraft En­cod­ing at 1:30 p.m. And Tues­day evenings there is Dun­geons and Dragons.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Car­bon Val­ley Ho­tel the for be­ing the July draw win­ner from the Com­mu­nity Cal­en­dar.

Did you know that the first build­ing in Car­bon was a small log cabin which was Dr. Toll’s of­fice. He was the lo­cal doc­tor in Car­bon from 1903 to 1909.
