A re­minder the Hus­sar flu clinic will be held Novem­ber 1 from 11:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. at the Sun­downer’s Se­niors Cen­tre. Please bring your Al­berta Health card for this free ser­vice.

The Hus­sar Ladies Sil­ver and Gold Gala will be held Satur­day, Novem­ber 3. Please call Kristin at (403)901-3112 for more in­for­ma­tion- this spe­cial evening is al­ways en­joyed by area ladies.

The Stitch and Chat ladies are once again col­lect­ing purses and per­sonal items to pack th­ese purses with, to do­nate to the Cri­sis Cen­tre in Strath­more. Thanks to Joni Hob­son for do­nat­ing some purses and items al­ready but the ladies are look­ing for ad­di­tional items in­clud­ing more purses, and per­sonal care prod­ucts. Any­one want­ing to con­tribute may con­tact mem­bers for pick up or drop them at the Sun­downer’s Cen­tre. The ladies would ap­pre­ci­ate do­na­tions be­ing given prior to De­cem­ber 10.

Do­na­tions of win­ter wear are now be­ing col­lected at sev­eral lo­ca­tions within the County. Items may be dropped at the Wheat­land County of­fice. Chil­dren’s and adult sizes are needed. Any­one re­quir­ing th­ese items is asked to call Carolyn at (403) 934-5335 to ar­range for pickup.

Hus­sar’s Se­nior’s Cen­tre is host­ing 6 ses­sions of “chair” yoga classes on Mon­day’s be­gin­ning at 1:00 p.m. Classes be­gan Oc­to­ber 15 and will run un­til Novem­ber 19.

The Hus­sar Li­brary Board hosted an in­for­ma­tion evening at the Sun­downer’s on Oc­to­ber 25. A rep­re­sen­ta­tive from Marigold Li­brary head­quar­ters was on hand to help pa­trons learn how to ac­cess their many ser­vices.

Kay, Don Fraser. Marvin and Ch­eryl Fisher at­tended a mu­si­cal evening at Ch­ester­mere Com­mu­nity cen­tre and would rec­om­mend the “Louisiana Hayride” per­for­mance to all.

Dead­line for order­ing Purdy’s choco­lates in sup­port of the Skat­ing Club fundraiser are pa­per copies Novem­ber 14, on­line or­ders Novem­ber 20. Please con­tact any skat­ing fam­ily or Paige Sev­ert­son (403) 787-3337 to place an or­der.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Kirk Sproule and Carmelle Hopaluk who were mar­ried on Oc­to­ber 19 at Tofino, BC. The cer­e­mony took place at the Tofino Botan­i­cal Gar­dens and a wed­ding re­cep­tion was held at the Wick­anin­nish Inn over­look­ing the ocean. There were 22 guests who trav­elled to Tofino and en­joyed beau­ti­ful weather while there. Sproule guests in­cluded Jared, Kelsey, El­iza, Quinn and Hailee, Moira, Judy and Lois and Ed Reif­f­en­stein. Un­for­tu­nately Gary was un­able to at­tend be­cause of the late har­vest. Carmelle’s par­ents Gary and Chere, two sis­ters and fam­i­lies and close friend Melissa all from Cal­gary spent 5 days at Tofino for the wed­ding also.

Best wishes to Kirk and Carmelle from the Hus­sar com­mu­nity for a happy mar­ried life.

Linda See­ley en­joyed a week long birth­day cel­e­bra­tion last week. On Oc­to­ber 21, she and Krista San­dum and Pam See­ley flew to Ari­zona for a four day girl’s trip along with friends Dusty Munchrath, Court­ney Hel­frich and Myrna Lea Ste­wart. They stayed at John­son Ranch and filled their days with hik­ing, golf­ing, shop­ping and re­lax­ing by the pool. Many of Linda’s fam­ily and friends met at Ori­gin Malt in Strath­more on Oc­to­ber 27 to con­tinue her birth­day cel­e­bra­tions.
