Au­gust 19, 1920 - Oc­to­ber 24, 2018 Hans (Joe) Joseph Chris­tensen of Drumheller beloved fa­ther of Sally, Robyn and Rox­anne Chris­tensen passed away peace­fully on Oc­to­ber 24, 2018 at the age of 98 years. Joe was born to Jim and El­iz­a­beth Chris­tensen on Au­gust 19, 1920 in Wayne, Al­berta. Joe took his early ed­u­ca­tion at Blue­spring School in Dalum with his four broth­ers and sis­ters. He fought over­seas in World War ll from 1942-1946, which he al­ways spoke of with pride. He was a mem­ber of the Cal­gary High­landers dur­ing this war and he re­ceived two Medals of Hon­our in re­cent years from the Cal­gary High­landers. Joe spent many of his years farm­ing in the Dalum area, farm­ing right up un­til his 78th year. Farm­ing was truly a pas­sion for Joe. Joe leaves to cher­ish his mem­ory his three daugh­ters; Sally, Robyn and Rox­anne, one brother Harry, many nieces and neph­ews and a life­time of friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Mass for Joe Chris­tensen was held Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. An­thony’s Ro­man Catholic Church, in­ter­ment fol­lowed in the Beth­le­hem Lutheran Church Ceme­tery, Dalum, Al­berta. If friends so de­sire me­mo­rial do­na­tions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foun­da­tion of Al­berta and NWT. Court­ney-Win­ter’s Funeral Homes were in care of the ar­range­ments.
