Hand Hills Grapevine
Hello Hand Hills and Welcome 2019…..I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve where you talked about the old and wondered about the New Year. The Club had about 25 people take part in the party and although it was a very quiet night it was a great way to catch up on family and friends. We need to be ready for anything this new year throws at us. Bring it on!
Ed Gammie had knee replacement surgery three weeks ago. Anyone who knows Ed will know this is a hard man to keep down but Nurse Tina has him under control. Take the time needed to heal!
Robert Hoff also had knee surgery on both knees in November and I hear he is recouping well.
There is just something about the New Year that speaks love to everyone. There were two engagements that I have heard of.
Tamara Quaschnick, in her own words, got to Ring in the New Year as Darren Schultz asked and she said Yes!!! Darren you are getting the complete deal with this gal! Congratulations to this great couple!
Jaydee Bixby surprised Meghan Spicer when he got down on his knee and popped the big question. Congratulations to this couple. Grandpa Fred get ready for a party!
Spencer and Kent Friedley found the perfect way to start a new year. They welcomed a baby girl into their world. Grandparents Sheldon, Susan Lockhart and Kevin and Shirley Friedley are sure to love cuddling Brooke Spencer! Congratulations! Welcome to the Grandparent Club Lockharts!
At the beginning of December the Tommy Vredegoor family hopped on a plane and flew to New Brunswick for a 10 day holiday. Gabrielle’s Grandfather was celebrating his 90th birthday and it was a great reason to visit all the family on the east coast. While there, they rented a vehicle and toured the coast. Our Christmas card from them was a picture of them at Peggy’s’ Cove. They had a great time.
Ray Sieppert had open heart surgery on December 16 and at present time he is in the Hanna Hospital. (by now he might be at daughter Michelle’s’). I am sure he would enjoy a visit. Get well Ray we are all pulling for you. A crew made up of the neighbours got together to gather and ship Ray’s calves while he was under the weather and that is how the world should work.
Get your tickets for the Valentines Steak and Lobster on February 9. They are available by calling this reporter.
Please mark January 24 on your calendar as that is the date for the Annual General Meeting of the Club. Let your voice be heard!
Till next time….let me know what is happening in your world. Lots of people love my column and I need your help to keep this Grapevine going.
