The 9th An­nual Rock­y­ford Ladies Spring Gala will be held on Saturday, May 11 and fea­ture “The Travelling Ma­bel’s”. The theme this year is “Cel­e­brat­ing 100 Years of Fash­ion”, which is very much a trib­ute to our Vil­lage’s 100th An­niver­sary! Pick a year and show us your style. Tick­ets are now on sale and can be pur­chased from Laurie (403)533-2415 or email phillip­[email protected] All the fun begins with cock­tails at 5 p.m. All proceeds will go to­wards com­mu­nity bet­ter­ment.

The Hus­sar Sun­down­ers would like to re­mind all se­niors of their up­com­ing mu­si­cal event on Thurs­day, April 11 start­ing at 7 p.m. at the Hus­sar Hall.

Birth­day greet­ings to those of you cel­e­brat­ing this week are sent to; Jason Hobson and to any­one else cel­e­brat­ing a spe­cial oc­ca­sion this week.

The Friendship Cen­tre will be host­ing their Soup Day on Wed­nes­day, April 10 at noon. Ev­ery­one is wel­come.

Fam­ily Paint on April 13 (10 un­til noon) will fea­ture an Easter-themed paint­ing. Reg­is­ter in ad­vance. This is a great op­por­tu­nity for the entire fam­ily to share some time to­gether. The li­brary will open at 9:30 a.m. on this Saturday.

On Thurs­day, April 18, at 7:00 p.m., paint a canvas in acrylics. In keep­ing with our un­pre­dictable “spring” weather, par­tic­i­pants will paint a beau­ti­ful im­age of spring tulips dusted by snow. Any­one aged 16+ is wel­come to reg­is­ter at the li­brary. No pre­vi­ous knowl­edge or ex­pe­ri­ence is re­quired, and in­struc­tion and all sup­plies are pro­vided.

There are a lot of fun ac­tiv­i­ties at the li­brary dur­ing the Easter week break. Tues­day, April 23, Christo­pher Cool will of­fer a magic work­shop for any­one aged 7+. Space is lim­ited so reg­is­ter in ad­vance if you are in­ter­ested. Fol­low­ing the work­shop, ev­ery­one is in­vited to a free magic show pre­sented by Christo­pher Cool, from 2:30 un­til 3:10. On Wed­nes­day, April 24, be­gin­ning at 4:00 p.m., kids can cre­ate their own per­sonal sten­cilled cush­ion. Please reg­is­ter early as space is lim­ited. Stay tuned for informatio­n about avail­able sten­cil sam­ples. Finally, on Thurs­day af­ter­noon, be­gin­ning at 3:00, par­tic­i­pants can cre­ate a sten­cilled wooden sign. Sten­cil choice can be made at the time of reg­is­tra­tion. Each per­son will be pro­vided a board, a choice of up to four colours, and in­struc­tion on how to com­plete the project.
