Meth, fentanyl, cocaine seized after post office altercation
A man suspected of trying to obtain a package of illegal drugs, and who was charged earlier this year following an overdose death, is being sought by Drumheller RCMP.
On April 2 around 9:30 p.m., Drumheller RCMP were called to an altercation between a post office worker and a suspect trying to obtain a package from a mailbox. Multiple witnesses identified the man as Chad McCann, 40, and police seized the package containing methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.
Police have charged McCann for the purpose of trafficking and are asking any witnesses to the event to contact the detachment at 8237590. McCann is also currently charged in relation to an overdose death which occurred in August last year, and was on court conditions to not possess intoxicating substances from this charge. McCann had been charged with one count of trafficking an opioid and one count of trafficking methamphetamine.
