Greetings & Salutations! Here’s what’s new this week in the Standard Community… The Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) honoured the Village of Standard’s Community Chest for their continued commitment to being, “Partners in Saving Lives”. Glenda Farnden, of the STARS Association, presented a photo plaque to council on Wednesday, April 3, thanking the community for their steadfast commitment to the STARS initiative. Mayor Joe Pedersen accepted on behalf of the Village. Many thanks to our local volunteer Fire Department and EMS teams who work hand in hand with STARS, keeping our community safe. Whenever you see a bright red STARS helicopter fly overhead or even land in the community, you can be assured a team of highly trained emergency care experts are giving hope to someone who is critically ill or injured.
