Our condolences to the family of Shirley Joan Envoldsen who passed away peacefully on June 3, surrounded by her family at the age of 89.
Restore and Renew Yoga will be held on Monday June 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Standard Municipal Library. This workshop will take participants through gentle and restorative asanas or postures before ending with a long savasana (yogic nap) to release the tension and restore energy. Come and make some time for you as summer comes forth! Everyone welcome - no previous experience required, just a desire to relax! Registration required. Bring your favorite blanket, props if you have them and pillow if desired. Please contact Gina at 587 968 1511.
Contest Time ... The first clue in the Standard Municipal Library’s, “Guess What Book Will Come to Life on Parade Day”, is that it is loosely based on the TD Summer Reading Theme, “Natural World”. The Second clue is it is an unlikely friendship and the power of a promise. The winner will receive a gift card to Indigo Books. Happy Guessing!
The Standard Municipal Library’s summer reading registration will open on Monday, June 24. Kids of all ages from Standard & Wheatland County are invited to participate in the six-week reading program. Kids will enjoy fun activities, crafts, and reading challenges, weekly prizes and grand prizes! All programs are free to attend. Library membership not required, but is always encouraged!
Join in fellowship and fun at the next potluck supper and meeting for the 50+ Senior’s Club on Tuesday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior’s Centre.
The Standard Lions would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who helped with their recent casino.
The Village of Standard would like to offer it’s appreciation to all the community members who came out and helped with the annual cemetery clean up.
