Mun­son fire­fight­ers hon­oured for ser­vice

Re­cently, mem­bers of the Mun­son Fire De­part­ment at­tended the Al­berta Fire Chief’s Con­fer­ence in Red Deer to re­ceive their Fire Ser­vices Ex­em­plary Ser­vice Medal. Lieu­tenant Gover­nor of Al­berta Lois Mitchell pre­sented the awards to Ger­ald Stu­bert for 31 years (medal & bar) & Fire Chief Steve Wannstrom for 29 years (medal), both mem­bers were nom­i­nated by the Of­fice of the Fire Com­mis­sioner staff. The medal is ad­min­is­tered by the Chan­cellery of Cana­dian Or­ders and Dec­o­ra­tions in Ot­tawa. The fed­eral, pro­vin­cial, and ter­ri­to­rial ju­ris­dic­tions in­de­pen­dently rec­om­mend el­i­gi­ble and de­serv­ing mem­bers of the fire ser­vice to the Chan­cellery.
