Finally had the opportunity to take in a baseball game at Midland recently, between the Timbits yellow team and the Timbits blue team, and loved every minute. These kids are 4-5 years old, just starting out and use a tee ball to keep up the tension, and are totally serious, (for the most part). Brought back a lot of memories from when this writer coached ball for a couple of years way back, and think the kids enjoyed the ice cream after, more than the game itself.

Can't say we ended up with any major leaguers, but always hoped the kids had fun.

Leftovers from July 1 festivities ...... nice to see Dorothy Bergos out enjoying Monday's parade, she always played a big part in the earlier success of Canada Day festivities ...... parade was basically one hour in length, and the best part was everyone was having fun ...... what other 80+ year old would you expect to dance along the parade route to get our attention, than former Drumhellerite Mary Guterson-Campbell? ...... someday, someone will have to explain to this writer, where all those people come from, and there are literally thousands ...... we hadn't driven the parade route lately, but with the town's volunteer committee running this one, have to say this was one of the best, no gaps, but driver's should leave a bit more space between them and the float ahead ...... and the route used is great, and easy to manoeuvre ...... we think that parade volunteer Terry Beaupre sampled every bit of candy delivered, and all samples passed his scrutiny ..... also nice to see Andy Triadopoulos enjoying Monday's parade with his family.
