The Rumsey Christmas Market will be open this Saturday, November 30, to fill your Christmas gift list so make sure you get into town from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to see all the great items available. The children’s party with a visit from Santa will also take place in the hall from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. during the market so it will be an occasion for everyone to attend. There will be a lunch served as well with home-made soup and fresh bread so you don’t want to miss it. Some of the vendors we are expecting are Young
Living Oils, Tupperware, Thirty-One, Scentsa, Norwex, Healing colors, MacFarlane home preserves, Rumsey Library community calendars, speciality coffees from the Morrin Multi-club, Big Valley Ladies Club carrot cakes, Rumsey Centennial items along with the history books, woodworking, knitted and crocheted items, jewellery, baby items, oh, the list goes on. There will be something for everyone, I’m sure.
Congratulations to grandparents, Tracey and Carver Johnson as their daughter, Larissa and husband, Jason Emmons, had a beautiful baby girl on Thursday, November 21; Eleanor Rae Dannielle arrived in the wee hours of Thursday
morning ready to take on the world at just over 8 pounds. I understand big brother Grant can’t wait to take care of her.
The curling season is up and running with Super League on Fridays, Open League on Thursdays and Ladies League on Tuesdays; if you didn’t get signed onto a team and still want to curl, come in and get your name on the spare list and I’ll bet you will be curling every week.
Congratulations to Robert Sinclair, Sr for celebrating his 85th birthday this past Saturday at the Drop-In. Lots of friends and family stopped by to tell tall tales and share some cheer with Robert. We wish you many more birthdays, Robert, many more.
Don’t forget about the annual Elks Bingos that are held in Rumsey on the first Wednesday of December which would be December 4 and then in Big Valley on the next Wednesday, December 11; each starting at 7:00 p.m. sharp. These are always fun nights with all proceeds going to the Big Valley and Rumsey Elks club who then make sure it all goes back into the communities. There will also be snacks provided by the Big Valley Ladies Community Club.
Have a great week, everyone, see you on Saturday.
