For­mer CFL first over­all pick signs

MONTREAL ( CP) — It didn’t take long for for­mer CFL first over­all pick Faith Ekak­i­tie to find a new job. Less than a week af­ter the No. 1 pick from the 2017 draft was cut by the Win­nipeg Blue Bombers, Ekak­i­tie signed with the Montreal Alou­ettes on Thurs­day. A de­fen­sive line­man from Bramp­ton, Ont., Ekak­i­tie inked a one- year deal with the Alou­ettes. He played in 14 games with the Bombers last sea­son, mak­ing five de­fen­sive tack­les.
