Man charged with assaulting officer
A 22-year-old Brantford man has been charged with causing a disturbance, assaulting police, and possession of a controlled substance following a disturbance late Tuesday morning. Brantford police were called to a Grey Street home where a couple had been arguing outside. The woman went back into the home, followed by the man, who kicked in the door. The man continued to cause a disturbance, yelling while officers tried to speak with him. As an arrest was attempted, the man resisted and fought with officers. The man was found to be in possession of a small quantity of Xanax, a tranquilizer medication that was not prescribed to him. Air compressor, tools stolen An air compressor and tools were reported stolen after thieves smashed the rear window of a vehicle parked overnight Monday on St. James Street in Brantford.
