Female flees taxi
Police were contacted by a concerned taxi driver after arriving in Norfolk County on Jan. 11 just before 10 p.m. It was determined that an unknown female contacted a company from Brantford and requested that she be taken to Argyle Street in Simcoe. Upon arrival at the address, the woman exited the vehicle and fled on foot, failing to pay for the fare. The female is described as Indigenous, approximately 20 years old with auburn hair. She was wearing jeans and a winter jacket at the time.
Driver, passenger charged
A 20-year-old and 21-year old are facing charges following a stop on Main Street in Waterford on Jan. 11. Just after 11 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle and charged the driver with speeding and young driver-blood alcohol concentration above zero. The passenger was hit with having liquor in an open container other than licensed premises, residence or private place.
