Fe­male flees taxi

Po­lice were con­tacted by a con­cerned taxi driver after ar­riv­ing in Nor­folk County on Jan. 11 just be­fore 10 p.m. It was de­ter­mined that an un­known fe­male con­tacted a com­pany from Brant­ford and re­quested that she be taken to Argyle Street in Sim­coe. Upon ar­rival at the ad­dress, the woman ex­ited the ve­hi­cle and fled on foot, fail­ing to pay for the fare. The fe­male is de­scribed as Indige­nous, ap­prox­i­mately 20 years old with auburn hair. She was wear­ing jeans and a win­ter jacket at the time.

Driver, pas­sen­ger charged

A 20-year-old and 21-year old are fac­ing charges fol­low­ing a stop on Main Street in Water­ford on Jan. 11. Just after 11 p.m. an of­fi­cer stopped a ve­hi­cle and charged the driver with speed­ing and young driver-blood al­co­hol con­cen­tra­tion above zero. The pas­sen­ger was hit with hav­ing liquor in an open con­tainer other than li­censed premises, res­i­dence or pri­vate place.
