FINDING A place for themselves and their loved ones is a top priority among newcomers to Canada.

For many, that means renting a home.

Emma Lazo is the publiclegal-education coordinator of the Tenant Resource and Advisory Centre. This weekend, she will talk about tenancy law and renters’ rights.

Hosted by the Immigrant Services Society of B.C., the Vancouver event will cover updates to the legislation, rights and obligations of tenants and landlords, tenancy agreement, dispute resolution, and legal resources.

The event will be held on Sunday (November 18) in the seminar room of the St. Mary’s School gym (5239 Joyce Street) from 1 to 3 p.m.
