Keeping it stylish from head to toe

Glengarry area shoppers will be able to select everything they need from head to toe at Moose Creek Mall when buying gifts this Christmas.

There doesn’t have to be a wedding on your list to shop at Juliannah's Dress & Bridal Shop.

The shop has a range of both bridal, prom, special occasion and formal dresses.

It also carries jewelry including pearls and crystal and rhinestone necklace sets, bracelets and earrings. The shop also has ball gowns which are quite popular.

Manager Melanie Charbonneau has noticed styles tend to change about every six months, and said while previously fitted dresses were more popular, now customers often prefer looser fitting designs in a range of fabrics.

When going out for the evening for a special occasion, Mrs. Charbonneau likes to select her own dresses from Juliannah’s shop.

She added keeping it local is also a good reason for people to shop at Juliannah's Dress & Bridal Shop, and other shops in the Moose Creek Mall “to keep businesses alive.”

At Vimi Shoes, manager Michel Théorêt related one of the big draws at the store is Rieker brand women’s and men’s shoes. “They are our biggest seller,” he said, adding since this footwear is made in Europe, people recognize it as a quality product.

Mr. Théorêt remarked footwear fashion has evolved over the years and said styles have gone more “multi-function.” When people are buying boots for themselves or as gifts they are looking for a product that is both dressy and sporty. They also like lamb’s-wool lining and footwear that is low maintenance.

Mr. Théorêt added while people come from all over the area to shop at Vimi Shoes. Others shop there because of the convenience and accessibility.

As another advantage, there is plenty of free parking at the Mall. “Lots of seniors come here,” Mr. Théorêt said, adding: “We have country service at country prices.”

Sometimes the store is also able to lower its prices because it pays lower overhead costs than stores located in the city, so it can accommodate more people’s needs.
