Yellow is the new black

Yellow is a strong colour for Eric Blais, owner of R&R Small Engine situated on County Road 34 south of Alexandria.

The yellow Cub Cadet snow blowers he sells make short work of snow-clearing.

“The manufacturer is innovating all the time,” points out Mr. Blais, referring to one of the hotter models, a machine with a 30- inch auger and a three-stage impeller system. For comfort and power, you can opt for a lawn tractor, powered by a 22horsepower engine, that can run a blower with a 42-inch auger. “Two shots and your car is out of your driveway,” he points out. Attachments, such as a mower with a bagger, can be added, along with chains or weights. The development of the three-stage system means that the blower can cut through snow, ice and slush quicker and more easily than ever before.

Cub Cadet has carved out a sizeable chunk of the market because of a good cost-benefit ratio. “This is quality that the average person can afford,” says Mr. Blais.
