Princess Room awaits

The Glengarry News - Glengarry Supplement - - News -

Believe it or not, there is a “Princess Room” in Carole’s Boutik, a new and consignment clothing store located at 26 Main St. N. in Alexandria.

That’s the unofficial name that staff gives the room, which is loaded with colourful dresses and shoes for women attending formal affairs. Right now, the dresses in the room are geared more toward holiday parties, but in the new year, store proprietor Carole Lapierre will bring out the wedding dresses and the prom dresses.

It’s all part and parcel of her mission to give local women an opportunity to look as stylish as possible. As such, she makes a real effort to ensure that the store’s new clothes are all this year’s fashions.

In terms of consignment, the store is currently working with more than 400 consignors with new shipments arriving every week. There’s even a room of Summer wear for local people who are travelling down south this winter.

Although the store carries mostly women’s clothing (including shoes, jewellery and accessories) there is a small selection of men’s clothing – corduroy pants, jeans, ties, and shoes. One of Ms. Lapierre’s goals is to offer more men’s clothing some time in the future.

In the meantime, she and her staff would like to thank their clients and their consignors for their business.

“It’s our pleasure to serve you and we look forward to serving you in the new year.”
