There is a good reason why hostas are also known as deer lettuce. The luscious plants are the animals’ favourite snacks, along with an assortment of other vegetation, in addition to trees and bushes. The creatures will consume almost anything if they get hungry enough. There are as many “remedies” and “deterrents” as there are animals in the yards and gardens. Fencing usually keeps the critters at bay, but this method requires an investment of time and money.
Here is a recipe that might work.
3 raw eggs
3 tbsp. of red hot sauce
3 tbsp. of garlic juice or minced Add enough water to a blender to process and mix well. Add this to a gallon of water and spray on plants. Other potent mixes include hot peppers.
