A change in planning date
BY SCOTT CARMICHAEL
Staff The South Glengarry strategic planning meeting originally slated to be held at the end of this month has been rescheduled.
The session will now be held in Morrisburg, at the McIntosh Inn, April 17 and 18. It had initially been scheduled for February 27 and 28 in Glen Nevis, at the Abbey Inn.
Township Marilyn LeBrun told last week that the meeting – during which council and administration will discuss goals and objectives and set priorities for the municipality for the next four years – was rescheduled and moved due to a heavy slate of events around the end of February.
“We’ve got a bunch of other things that the CAO and council are involved in, so there’s just no time to prepare for it by then,” said Mrs. LeBrun. “There are a lot of scheduling conflicts. So April is a better time.”
Among the upcoming events are the OGRA/ROMA (Ontario Good Roads Association/Rural Ontario Municipal Association) Combined Conference in Toronto from February 22 to 25.
And even though the venue and dates have changed, the strategic planning meeting remains open to interested members of the public.
The first session begins on Friday, following lunch, while Saturday’s proceedings begin at 9 a.m. and are expected to last into the early afternoon hours.
