Cru­saders win SD&G

What a win­ter it has been for the Char-Lan DHS girls hockey team! Af­ter run­ning the ta­ble in reg­u­lar- sea­son league play, the girls did the same at last week’s play­off tour­na­ment, se­cur­ing the SD&G cham­pi­onship.

The Cru­saders opened the Feb. 18 event in Cornwall with a 3-2 vic­tory over Holy Trin­ity. Chelsea Cayer, Mack­ayla Petrie, and Chan­tal Vi­varais (with the game-win­ner) had the goals for Char-Lan.

The other semi­fi­nal saw La Ci­tadelle pre­vail over North Dun­das in a shootout.

In the cham­pi­onship match, the Cru­saders stepped up their de­fen­sive play, en route to a 3-0 shutout tri­umph.

and Mack­ayla Petrie

The Cru­saders are coached by Sean O’Far­rell, Michael McDonell, and Dar­rell McDonell. To­day, Feb. 25, the girls are off to Smiths Falls, com­pet­ing at EOSSAA as the SD&G champs.
