Staff South Glengarry Township is looking at a sizeable surplus from 2014, according to its treasurer.
“I’ve been saying that we’re going to have a surplus of around $300,000, but this is a moving target,” Mike Samson told the last council meeting.
A recent transfer of $169,000 from a capital fire reserve – added to a previous surplus of $ 86,000 – contributed to an increase in the township’s 2014 net revenues of $265,000. The township’s total budgeted expenditures for 2014 was $25.3 million.
