Gaels crush Cru­saders

BY SEAN BRAY Sports Editor Wrap­ping up the ju­nior boys bas­ket­ball sea­son last week in Wil­liamstown, the GDHS Gaels scored a decisive 56-20 win over the Char-Lan Cru­saders.

For the Gaels, it was just their third vic­tory of the sea­son to go against five losses. Mean­while, Char-Lan dropped to 2-6 and out of the play­off pic­ture.

The ju­nior play­offs were

sched­uled to open yesterday ( Feb. 17), with quar­ter- and semi­fi­nal play, though re­sults were not avail­able at press time.

The SD&G cham­pi­onship fi­nal is set for Fri­day, Feb. 20, to be hosted by the top seed re­main­ing.

St. Lawrence com­pleted the sea­son per­fect (8-0), fol­lowed by Holy Trin­ity (7-1), La Ci­tadelle (6-2), Tagwi (5-3), L’Her­itage (53), and GDHS (3-5) as the play­off qual­i­fiers.

In the Feb. 11 game, the Gaels were led of­fen­sively by Dove Rickard (20 points). Top scorer for Char- Lan was Ni­cholas Dana­her (6).
