Busy stretch of high school play­offs

This week is the busiest of the win­ter for high school sports team, as all sports are in play­offs.

To­day, Feb. 18, girls hockey teams will de­cide the SD&G cham­pion, with ac­tion booked through­out the day at Cornwall’s multi-sport com­plex. Char­Lan is sched­uled to play in a semi­fi­nal match against a win­ner from the quar­ter-fi­nal stage.

Also to­day is quar­ter- and semi­fi­nal play in se­nior boys bas­ket­ball. GDHS, Tagwi, and Holy Trin­ity all qual­i­fied. The Gaels and War­riors are sched­uled to bat­tle in a 1 p.m. quar­ter-fi­nal match at St. Lawrence, with the win­ner tak­ing on the Saints.

The Fal­cons will play a semi­fi­nal game at 4 p.m. on their home court.

To­mor­row, Feb. 19, it will be ju­nior girls vol­ley­ball, hosted by top-seeded Char-Lan. GD fin­ished sec­ond, while HT was third. The ac­tion be­gins at 9 a.m., with the cham­pi­onship set for ap­prox­i­mately 12:30 p.m.

Se­nior girls vol­ley­bally play­offs will go on Feb. 23 at Holy Trin­ity, with Tagwi and GD meet­ing in a 9 a.m. quar­ter-fi­nal.

In boys hockey, third-seeded Char-Lan will play at Cornwall’s multi-sport com­plex in a Feb. 24 semi­fi­nal match, set for an 11 a.m. start.
