A reminder that our Winter Carnival in Glen Robertson is Saturday, Feb. 20. The draw for two hockey tickets will take place that evening at the recreation centre so if you want to win, pick up your tickets. They are available at The Glen Road House, Glengarry Tire and from all committee members. The game is Feb. 27 -- Montréal vs. Toronto (Section 109).
Our upcoming March activities are the following: Spaghetti Jamboree Saturday, March 5. The benefits reaped from the Spaghetti Supper will help to buy a natural gas furnace for our church in The Glen. Also The World Day of Prayer 2016 is slated for early March. More details on the upcoming events will follow shortly.
Despite the error on the date and the lack of snow, the Antique Snowmobile Day this past Saturday in Ste- Justine turned out to be a success with close to 200 snowmobiles on display. Apparently, a lot of fun was had and ended with a big bonfire on Concession 10.
I would also like to remind you that the month of February is a fund- raising month for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. I have been asked to volunteer in order to help raise funds for the foundation.
If anyone would like to donate, please just give me a call and I will be more than happy to go to your door and pick up your donation. I will provide a receipt for donations of $15 or more.
This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and for many sacrifices will be taken until Easter.
My words of wisdom for our times this week: “I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again.'' God Bless!
