IPM donates $90,000 to hospital foundation


L’Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation received a cheque for $90,000 from the 2015 Internatio­nal Plowing Match and Rural Expo’s legacy fund during a volunteer appreciati­on event in Finch this past Saturday (June 18) afternoon.

The foundation along with the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation and the Winchester and District Memorial Foundation, will each receive $100,000 from the legacy fund – the $90,000 granted on Saturday, and an additional $10,000 to be allotted once accounting for last September’s IPM is completed this Fall.

Numerous volunteers, charities, not-for-profits and service groups split are splitting the remainder of the $385,000 legacy fund pool.

HGMH will use its largesse to help cover the cost of replacing IV (intravenou­s) pumps at the hospital, while the Cornwall hospital will be using its gift to augment its mental health services department.
