Driver charged in rollover

A 49-year-old Corn­wall man has been charged fol­low­ing the con­clu­sion of an SD&G OPP in­ves­ti­ga­tion into a sin­gle-ve­hi­cle crash in South Glen­garry in June.

Kevin Mas­sia faces one count of im­paired driv­ing and one count of dan­ger­ous op­er­a­tion of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle af­ter his south­bound mini-van en­tered a ditch on Fraser Road, near Sum­mer­stown, shortly be­fore 9 p.m. June 18. The lone oc­cu­pant of the ve­hi­cle, he was taken to hospi­tal with life-threat­en­ing in­juries. Fol­low­ing his ar­rest, Mr. Mas­sia was re­leased and is sched­uled to ap­pear in Alexan­dria court Au­gust 10.

Weapons case

The case of a 40-year-old South Glen­garry man fac­ing 17 charges, 14 of which are weapons-re­lated, re­turns to Corn­wall court Au­gust 29 when sub­mis­sions from both sides will be heard.

Pierre Nas­sif was ar­rested May 27, 2015 fol­low­ing the con­clu­sion of a five-month-long joint law en­force­ment in­ves­ti­ga­tion, co­de­named which tar­geted the traf­fick­ing of co­caine and firearms, par­tic­u­larly in East­ern On­tario.
