Three residents of St. Jerome, Que. were recently arrested as the result of a Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF) investigation in South Glengarry.
Jonathan Boulay, 22, David Dore, 33, and Nancy Slavinski, 42, were each charged under the provisions of the federal Excise Act as well as the provincial
Tobacco Tax Act following a traffic stop on December 20 in which officers seized 3,080 kilograms of illegal fine-cut tobacco from the cube van in which they were travelling.
Ms. Slavinski also faces three drug- related charges – two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession.
All three suspects were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Cornwall court January 31.
