The Editor, Re: ‘81st best place to retire,’

August 2, 2017;

In response to urbanite Mark Brown of MoneySense who ranked North Glengarry 81st in his study of the best places to retire in Canada, all of the attributes that he enumerates such as thriving arts scene, easy access to airports, easy access to transit.

If these things above ever come to this beautiful countryside with its rolling hills, no street lights, wildlife, pure air, low density population, etc. they will kill Glengarry!

He was somewhat insulting when he says, “A strong sense of community doesn't hurt either.” Glengarry already has this!

Glengarry also already has a thriving arts scene!

We have beautiful walking/running/skiing trails!

Being 81st means we should try to fall even lower because all of Mr. Brown's urban criteria that we lack are the very reasons that we choose to retire here!

Love the country! Without industrial wind farms and solar panels of course. Marie Langevin, North
