Creating, connecting and opening.
Those are some of the themes being considered as the Stormont- Dundas- Glengarry Library System seeks a new slogan.
This past spring, staff and board members compiled a list of six potential mission statements that “fit with where the library is and where it is heading. Now, staff have taken these statements out to the public to find out what community members think.”
“It was time to update our mission statement,” said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “How people see and use our library has been changing, and our mission needed to reflect a more updated and usable idea.”
The statements range from short and to the point, to more traditional styles. As well, there is the option of writing in your own suggestion.
People can vote on their favourite statement in a library branch, at the Pop Up Library, or online until September 5. “We’ve had an excellent response from people so far, and are excited to continue to hear more,” Ms. Franklin said.
The suggested catch phrases are: Create. Imagine. Innovate. SD&G County Library -- We're more than just books!
SD&G County Library -Opening Doors, Opening Minds, Opening Opportunities.
To provide a welcoming, supportive and inspiring environment, where everyone can explore, learn and create. Connect. Create. Explore. Connecting people, inspiring ideas, and changing lives.
