MP’s Alexan­dria of­fice closed

Glen­garry-Prescott-Rus­sell MP Fran­cis Drouin’s Alexan­dria of­fice will re­main closed un­til Sept. 5 while a new con­stituency as­sis­tant com­pletes her train­ing.

Mr. Drouin’s Ex­ec­u­tive As­sis­tant, Paul Wer­nick, says that Rock­land res­i­dent Ju­dith Si­mard will be­gin work­ing at the Alexan­dria of­fice, at the North Glen­garry town hall, 90 Main St. S., on the day af­ter Labour Day.

The of­fice is usu­ally open on Tues­days and Wed­nes­days from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The brief clo­sure was nec­es­sary af­ter for­mer con­stituency as­sis­tant Gabriel Farmer left ear­lier this month in or­der to re­sume his ed­u­ca­tion.

Mr. Wer­nick says that the train­ing will en­sure that Ms. Si­mard is able to deal with a num­ber of lo­cal con­cerns in­clud­ing pass­port is­sues and im­mi­gra­tion.
