Play­offs loom for women

Glen­garry Soccer League se­nior women’s in­door sea­son play­offs are sched­uled to kick off on March 20, with a pair of onegame knock­out matches, at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

The winners will ad­vance to the best-of-three cham­pi­onship se­ries, start­ing on March 22.

As of press time, play­off seed­ing had not been fi­nal­ized, as re­sults from March 6 matches could have a bear­ing.

Re­gard­less, Alexan­dria, Glen Ne­vis, Dun­ve­gan will ad­vance to play­off ac­tion as the top three teams. The fourth, and last, qual­i­fier in the seven-team league is likely to be Van­kleek Hill.

Amongst games last week, Cha­rand Van­kleek Hill played to a 4-4 draw. Af­ter Char-Lan’s Shirley MacDonell ( with 2), Jes­sica Lag­den, and Me­gan Bard opened with four straight goals, a reen­er­gized Team Grey stormed back with tal­lies from Me­lanie Belle­feuille, Christin Senn, Va­lerie Belle­feuille, and Re­becca Bradley.

Alexan­dria 4 ( El­iz­a­beth Mc­Cormick, Stephanie Cho­lette, Emily MacMaster, Quinn MacKin­non) vs. Dun­ve­gan 1 (Aly­cia De­mers).

Glen Ne­vis 7 (Lo­gan Leger 3, Josee Hagen 2, Mary Jane O’Shea, Ash­ton MacDonald) vs. Van­kleek Hill 1 (Cassie Wors­fold).

Char- Lan 3 ( Calla Ma­jor 2, Me­gan Bard) vs. Dal­hart 2 (Josee Di­caire, Co­rina Shane).
