After Monday night’s home-ice loss that ended the season for the Alexandria Glens, at least one young fan went to bed happy, receiving a hockey stick from the goaltender.

Mom Josée Jeaurond later posted to Facebook, “Merci Nicolas Rousseau! Ce soir, j'ai un petit garçon qui voulait dormir avec son nouveau bâton puisqu'il vient d'un gardien qu'il admire beaucoup! Beau travail à toute l'équipe. Vous avez bien joué tout au long de la saison.” (Translation: Thank you, Nicolas Rousseau! Tonight, I have a very happy boy who wants to sleep with his new hockey stick, because it comes from a goalie that he greatly admires! Congratulations to the whole team. You played great all season long.)

Alexandria’s netminding tandem this season includes Brennan Nadeau, who says of his relationship with Rousseau that the two are close and he “learns so much from him.”

Of Rousseau he adds, “he’s been unbelievable for us down the stretch and in the first round; he gives us a chance to win every time he plays.” –

YOUNG FAN: Glens goaltender Nicolas Rousseau presents his hockey stick to Vincent Levert, age 8.
