Girls end sea­son on high note

The Glen­garry High­landers mid­get house girls hockey team, seeded fifth, claimed the ‘ B’ cham­pi­onship on March 25, with a 3- 1 ef­fort over top- ranked Clarence/Rock­land.

The High­landers won three games and tied one, in their 14team play­off pool, to qual­ify for cham­pi­onship day.

Also, on the week­end, the High­landers went un­de­feated in their first three games of the Kanata tour­na­ment, be­fore bow­ing out 3-2 to Sud­bury in the semi­fi­nal.

Coach Wil­lie Kip­pen says that the “High­landers re­ally came to­gether as a team in the last part of the sea­son, los­ing only once in the last 11 games.”
