Owain Marsh, a Grade 7 student at Glengarry District High School, works on a wind turbine he helped design with classmates Corbin Buffington, Harry MacGillivray, and Desmond Clark. Students from GDHS and Tagwi assembled in the GDHS gym on Friday to build their designs, test their abilities to generate power, and have them evaluated by a team of judges. At right is the winning team, consisting of Carl Marfurt-Breakenridge (GDHS), Zac L'Ecuyer (Tawgi), Markus Gandia (GDHS), whose design created 38 mV output and garnered 128 total points. Below, students Devlin Hushard (GDHS), Sterling Mount (Tagwi) and Rory MacKinnon (GDHS) work on their project. Second Place went to Kayla McPherson (GDHS), Bridan Russett (GDHS), Jacob MacDonell (Tagwi) 150 mV output; 120.7 total points.
