4 charged in raid

Four North Glengarry res­i­dents have been charged af­ter po­lice seized il­licit drugs and re­cov­ered a large quan­tity of stolen prop­erty dur­ing raids on sev­eral prop­er­ties in North Glengarry April 13.

The search war­rants ex­e­cuted by the On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice net­ted speed pills, liquid hy­dro­mor­phone, mar­i­juana, hy­dro­mor­phone, co­caine, crys­tal metham­phetamine and steroids.

In ad­di­tion to the drugs, that had an es­ti­mated street value of $5,000, po­lice found a quan­tity of stolen prop­erty, in­clud­ing jew­ellery, an au­to­graphed Con­nor McDavid jersey, that had been stolen March 23, a Ford 8N trac­tor, stolen Novem­ber 7, 2017, a cus­tom-made trailer, and over $1,400 in Canadian cur­rency.

Alan Ro­ma­niuk, 22, was charged with pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime, pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance, theft and break and en­ter.

Vanessa Buss, 23, An­thony Lutz, 54, are charged with pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime and pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance.

Martin Des­jardins, 32, faces charges of pos­ses­sion and pos­ses­sion for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

They were re­leased and are sched­uled to ap­pear in Alexan­dria court June 6.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion was car­ried out by the

Com­mu­nity Street Crime Unit with the as­sis­tance of OPP Tac­ti­cal Res­cue Unit, Emer­gency Re­sponse Team, Ca­nine Unit, and SD&G OPP. Po­lice are look­ing for the pub­lic as­sis­tance with iden­ti­fy­ing two ad­di­tional re­cov­ered items -- a Case trac­tor and a camo trailer.
