4 charged in raid
Four North Glengarry residents have been charged after police seized illicit drugs and recovered a large quantity of stolen property during raids on several properties in North Glengarry April 13.
The search warrants executed by the Ontario Provincial Police netted speed pills, liquid hydromorphone, marijuana, hydromorphone, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and steroids.
In addition to the drugs, that had an estimated street value of $5,000, police found a quantity of stolen property, including jewellery, an autographed Connor McDavid jersey, that had been stolen March 23, a Ford 8N tractor, stolen November 7, 2017, a custom-made trailer, and over $1,400 in Canadian currency.
Alan Romaniuk, 22, was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance, theft and break and enter.
Vanessa Buss, 23, Anthony Lutz, 54, are charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance.
Martin Desjardins, 32, faces charges of possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
They were released and are scheduled to appear in Alexandria court June 6.
The investigation was carried out by the
Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance of OPP Tactical Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and SD&G OPP. Police are looking for the public assistance with identifying two additional recovered items -- a Case tractor and a camo trailer.
