A lit­tle weather can’t faze Fen­ci­bles Trust sup­port­ers

BY SCOTT CARMICHAEL Staff The Glengarry Fen­ci­bles Trust’s gala fundrais­ing din­ner last Satur­day was a suc­cess, in spite of Mother Na­ture’s lack of co­op­er­a­tion. “In­cred­i­bly, only two peo­ple she is do­ing for her next book,” about the War of 1812, said Mrs. Bax­ter.

“She also elab­o­rated on Gen­eral (Isaac) Brock’s es­teem for (then) Fa­ther Alexan­der Mac­donell, and his (Mac­donell’s) role as chap­lain of the Glengarry Fen­ci­bles.”

As of press time, Satur­day’s gala had raised more than $9,000 which will be used to­wards the on­go­ing ren­o­va­tion of the two­cen­turies-old Bishop’s House in St. Raphael’s.
