April 25 is the dead­line for peo­ple to vote for their favourites in the third an­nual Alexan­dria and Dis­trict Lions Club’s Canada Day Pa­rade But­ton Draw­ing Con­test.

Again this year, the re­sponse to the con­test was good, says Canada Day com­mit­tee chair Cassie Depratto-Nutt. Some 230 en­tries were re­ceived from pupils at Wil­liamstown and Lag­gan pub­lic schools, St. Fin­nan’s Catholic school and École Elda-Rouleau in Alexan­dria. All schools in Glengarry were asked to par­tic­i­pate. The grand prize win­ner will win $100 in Chamber of Com­merce dol­lars while the four fi­nal­ists will each win $25 in chamber bucks. All of the sub­mis­sions will be dis­played dur­ing Canada Day fes­tiv­i­ties at the Sand­field Cen­tre.
