Reg­u­lar-sea­son ac­tion in the se­nior girls divi­sion of the SD&G high school soc­cer league wrapped up last week, with Char-Lan fin­ish­ing in sec­ond place, be­hind la Ci­tadelle, while Glen­garry ended up third, fol­lowed by Tagwi.

The Gaels con­cluded the cam­paign with a “great day,” as head coach Kath­leen Tonkin de­scribes it, ty­ing St. Joseph’s nil-nil and edg­ing Se­away 1-0 on a Sarah MacGil­lvray marker.

“Our de­fen­sive squad, par­tic­u­larly Sara Hayes, played a big role in our tie against St. Joe’s,” adds the coach.

Cru­saders re­sults last week in­clude losses to la Ci­tadelle (2-0) and St. Joseph’s (6-1), as well as a win over St. Lawrence (2-0). Names of goal scor­ers were not avail­able.

Tagwi’s Cassie Mac­Donell notched the lone tally in a 3-1 loss to la Ci­tadelle on May 16. The Warriors also fell to Holy Trin­ity, 4-1, with Brook­lin Woodside scor­ing for Tagwi, while Mor­gan Zap­pia (with two), Paige Bo­hu­nicky, and Dara Lafram­boise scored for HT.
