Charge laid in fatal crash
A Mississauga man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death following an investigation into an August 21, 2017 multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in South Glengarry that claimed the life of Kimberly Oosting, 32, of Rivière Beaudette.
Sarbjot Pander, 21, is to appear in Alexandria court July 4 to face the charge. He was driving a westbound tractor trailer that collided with a westbound passenger vehicle that then struck other vehicles, reports the Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police detachment.
In all, four passenger vehicles and two tractor trailers were involved in the collision where five others were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The charge was laid after OPP technical traffic collision investigators and SD&G OPP officers concluded their investigation June 5.
