A local family in need and the Julie MacLachlan Foundation are the beneficiaries of a recent beach volleyball tournament, held at Charlottenburgh Park.

The July 21 fundraiser, spearheaded by Colton Gallant, was billed as ‘Serving Kindness,’ and the day-long event raised $2,000.

The South Glengarrian extends his thanks to the organizing committee of Cid Deschamps, Tori Burns, Eric Lamarche, Marni Campeau, Leo Flood, Cody Bourget, and Yanik Rozon, as well as to “all the participants, volunteers, and spectators that came out to support the event.”

In particular, Gallant notes the help of the Raisin Region Conservation Authority and park staff in accommodating the fundraiser.

The team of Chelsea Bolado claimed the trophy, following a thrilling final with Ally Lecky’s gang.
