The championship round of the 12th annual Highland Regiments Tug-of-War at the Glengarry Highland Games was a repeat of the year previous, featuring the Cameron Highlanders (of Ottawa) and the Toronto Scottish.

And just like in 2017, the Toronto Scottish took the first of three pulls, with Cameron prevailing in round two to tie.

In the third pull, Scottish triumphed to upset the Camerons, the sixtime defending champion.

The event this year featured six teams, with the Camerons and Scottish tied atop the round-robin standings.

In the consolation final, the Brockville Rifles won on two straight pulls, to take third place overall.

The Highlanders Tug-of-War Challenge Cup was designed specifically for units of the Canadian Armed Forces Primary Reserve.
