Glengarry’s two Dairy Queen franchises raised nearly $6,000 on Miracle Treat Day last Thursday and, for possibly the first time ever, the South Lancaster store raised more than the one in Alexandria. Monique Samis says her store raised $3,000 while Eric Pandya of the Alexandria store estimates he raised between $2,500 and $3,000. Every year, Dairy Queen franchises across the country set aside one day where they donate the proceeds of Blizzard sales to children’s health organizations. In Glengarry’s case, the proceeds go to CHEO. At left, South Lancaster employees Avery O’Farrell, Chloe Raymond, Anik Paquette, Monique Samis, Emma Dennison and Jamie Dennison stand beside some of the treats they made to be sold during the event.
