North Glengarry will receive $326,504 through the federal Gas Tax Fund.

Glengarry-Prescott-Russell MP Francis Drouin was in Embrun on Monday to announce that municipalities in his riding would receive a grand total of $5,765,436. He says the funds can be used for infrastructure like local roads, sports and recreation facilities and tourism programs.

“The projects generate economic growth and create jobs to ensure that Ontario remains among the best places in the world to live,” he said by way of an Aug. 13 press release. “Whether the federal Gas Tax Fund is invested to keep our roads safe and smooth, to support our public transit system or to improve residents’ access to clean drinking water, it has made a difference in our community.”
