BY SEAN BRAY Sports Editor On the heels of a 4-0 victory last week in Lancaster, the Glengarry Hearts U12 boys soccer team remains unbeaten in ERSL play, though it’s all unofficial, as this league doesn’t keep results and statistics until the U13 level.

The Aug. 9 match, at Smithfield Park, saw the Hearts leading 1-0 at the half, before going on to salt it away in the second period with a trio of tallies.

The Jack Chisholm- coached group maintained intensity throughout the contest, on both sides of the ball, as the opponent, Ottawa City Blue, was kept largely in check.

Glengarry’s U12 boys are one of 12 county crews competing this year in the East Region Soccer League.

The Hearts have five games remaining, including four on their home pitch, with their season stretching into early September.

PITCHING IN: Ryan McCready, of the Glengarry Hearts U12 boys soccer team, fends off an Ottawa defender as he pushes forward for an offensive opportunity.
