Pick up after yourselves

The Editor, Would you leave your yard looking like this? Because you are leaving our yard like this.

That's right, beer cans, water bottles, pop bottles – you've even emptied your car ashtrays at the side of our road and left paper cups and wrappers from various fast food restaurants to linger in our gardens, not to mention yards of discarded soccer tape lying in the grass for the birds and small animals to get tangled up in. There are garbage bins and a large blue recycling bin provided, not even half full.

Oh yes, there is also a porta potty provided. Not everybody uses it. Doesn't smell very nice in that corner of the field. I could go on.

In closing, please respect not only the fine people who work hard to keep the fields nice for you to play on, but also the residents of your local towns and villages. And pick up after yourselves.

Christine Ractliffe, Greenfield
