Colts nab first win

Af­ter a tough start to the ju­nior ‘A’ hockey sea­son, the Corn­wall Colts nabbed their first win, last Thurs­day, on home ice, beat­ing the Kemptville 73’s, 6-5, on an over­time marker from Tris­tan Pois­sant.

The county’s David Poirier contribute­d to the offence, with a goal and an as­sist, as the Colts record im­proved to 1-5-0-0.

Next ac­tion will be Sept. 20, at the Corn­wall Civic Com­plex, ver­sus the Na­van Grads, on Big Broth­ers / Big Sis­ters of Corn­wall and District night. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.

Play­ers on the Prowl

The Corn­wall Prowlers se­nior ‘A’ hockey team of the LHSAO will hold its train­ing camp on Sun­day, Sept. 23, in­clud­ing a

Blue & White game open to the pub­lic, start­ing at 7:30 p.m. The ac­tion will take place at Corn­wall’s multi-sport com­plex.

Mitch Gagné is one of three own­ers, along with Lyle Pid­geon and Richard Emond. He also will be co-coach­ing the team with Wayne Disotell.

Amongst the play­ers cur­rently signed are Glen­gar­ri­ans Jesse Fon­taine and Pierre-Luc Sabourin.

Mi­nor foot­ball

In Sun­day NCAFA mi­nor foot­ball, the Corn­wall Wild­cats tyke 2 team fell to the South Ot­tawa Mus­tangs 48-40.

The other three ’ Cats teams beat the heat and re­spec­tive Vik­ings squads in Gatineau: tyke 1 pre­vailed 40- 0, the mos­qui­tos won 16-14, and the pee­wees tri­umphed 46-6.

The pee­wee, mos­quito, and tyke 2 teams are now all 2-2, while tyke 1 re­mains un­beaten.
