Yes way, Houlzet

The Glengarry News - - Sports In The Glens - – Sean Bray

Glengarry DHS graduate Matthew Houlzet, now a student-athlete at Fleming College in Peterborough, has qualified for the national college crosscountry running championships, along with his Knights teammates.

Last weekend, they ran in the OCAA ( provincial) meet in Scarborough, on an 8 km course. Houlzet placed 48th overall, fourth on his team, with a time of 31 minutes, 16.2 seconds. He says his result “wasn't amazing, but we like to think that time is irrelevant in XC. The course was very tactical, with it being four laps of two kilometres, with tons of short, steep hills and tight corners that you would hit dozens of times by the end of the race.”

He and his Knights will compete at the CCAA (national) crosscountry running championships, entering ranked 14th nationally. The meet is scheduled for this weekend, at Seneca College, north of Toronto.
