Gaels drop close one to Saints

The SD&G high school boys bas­ket­ball sea­son tipped off last week for the GDHS Gaels se­nior team, with a tight 52-49 loss to St. Lawrence.

At half­time, the game was tied 30-30, but the Saints did just enough in the sec­ond half to deal the Gaels the game one loss.

Dove Rick­erd paced the Glen­garry of­fence, scor­ing 26 points, in­clud­ing a pair of treys. Ethan At­tridge recorded 13 points and had one drop in from out­side the arc.

The Gaels this sea­son are coached by Kather­ine Adams, and are next sched­uled to see ac­tion on Dec. 6, at la Ci­tadelle.

GD’s ju­nior boys also be­gan their cam­paign last week, hum­bled 43-10 by the Saints. Rowan McPher­son and Ja­son Gin­gras each had three points to lead the Gaels.

Holy Trin­ity ju­niors top Tagwi

The ju­nior boys bas­ket­ball team from Holy Trin­ity CSS, with just six play­ers in ac­tion, topped the Tagwi War­riors on their home court, 58-25, on Nov. 28, to open the high school schedule for both teams.

Noah Ray­mond led the scor­ing for the Fal­cons, with 25 points, while Tagwi’s Heath Pat­ter­son and Reese Lav­i­gne each had six points.
