Moving on, again

The Glengarry News - - News - -- Scott Carmichael

Former South Glengarry CAO Derik Brandt is on the move again. Mr. Brandt, 48, who served in that role from February 2006 until his dismissal in early 2014, announced his resignation as the Town of Grimsby’s chief administrative officer/town manager on February 5.

The Sault Ste. Marie area native had been with the municipality for the past three years. In a statement released following his recent departure from the municipal table in Grimsby, Mr. Brandt explained that the large turnover in council following last fall’s municipal election was his primary reason for leaving. “There was a significant amount of change after the election and the new council wants to move forward with a clean break and I can respect that,” he said.

WE DAY: Students from l’École secondaire catholique Le Relais in Alexandria and pastoral animator Tina Charbonneau (front, second from left) met Craig Kielburger, co-founder of the WE movement last week in Montréal. Students from Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) took part in La Journée UNIS at Théâtre St-Denis. Celebrating a year of achievements, the students reflected on actions that have improved communities and changed lives. The CSDCEO is the first board in Ontario to have all of its schools participate in the WE program. This year, la Journée CSDCEO...UNIS will be held May 11 at the Glengarry Sports Palace.
